Sam Mullis
Founder
Sam Mullis is Founder of MNH. Prior to founding MNH in 2002, he was with Dodson-Bateman & Company for 17 years as an executive vice president and shareholder. Sam has also held surety and casualty insurance underwriting positions with the USF&G Companies in Dallas. He is active in numerous trade associations and has served on the boards of TEXO, Associated General Contractors National Surety Council and the Construction Education Foundation. He is also a past board member of the Associated Builders and Contractors of North Texas and the National Association of Surety Bond Producers. A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Mullis holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in insurance and finance.
John Newby
Managing Partner
John Newby is Managing Partner of MNH. John previously worked as assistant vice president for NAS Surety Group where he was responsible for its operations in the Western United States. During his 12 years in the surety bond underwriting field, he worked in California and Illinois with the Insurance Company of the West and Reliance Surety Company. He is an active member of several industry associations, including a past instructor at the National Association of Surety Bond Producers William Angell Surety School. Newby earned an MBA from Pepperdine University after receiving a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.
Troy Key
Vice President
Troy Key is Vice President of MNH. Prior to joining the agency, Troy was the regional bond manager for Crum & Forster. His surety background also includes several years underwriting for Safeco Surety and XL Surety. Troy received the designation of Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB) in 2004 and has served on the board of the Dallas Surety Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University.
Scott Stagner
Vice President
Scott Stagner is Vice President of MNH who has 30 years’ experience as a producer and marketing professional in the property and casualty insurance business with specialization focused on construction, trucking and real estate. Scott’s insurance career began with Texas Employers and Employers Casualty Company in 1980 including a tenure with Willis Corroon. Prior to joining MNH, he was a producer and marketing executive for Aon and Allied North America. Scott earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate and Finance from North Texas State University.
Mike Wiggins
Vice President
Mike Wiggins serves as Vice President of Insurance at MNH. Prior to joining the agency, Mike was a producer for Liberty Mutual in South Texas. His background involves property & casualty for construction related risks. He is an active member in TEXO, ASA and the Young Contractor’s Council. Mike earned a BS from Southwest Texas State University and holds the designations of Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) as well as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Douglass Reed
Vice President
Douglass Reed serves as Vice President of MNH. Prior to joining MNH in 2014, Doug was a producer for one of the largest mutual insurance companies in the United States. Doug has quickly become a resource for his customers due to his extensive knowledge of property and casualty insurance and surety bonds with respect to the construction industry. Doug is a proud graduate of Baylor University.
Raleigh Roussell
Vice President, Construction Marketing
Raleigh Roussell joined MNH in January 2013. He served 40 years as President and CEO of TEXO before taking on the role of Vice President of Construction Marketing at MNH. His distinguished honors include being named the S.I.R. Award recipient in 1993 which is the construction industry’s highest award. Raleigh was also named an Honorary Life Member of the American Institute of Architects and has been inducted into the “Contractor Hall of Fame” at Texas A&M University. In 2011 an endowed scholarship was established in his name by the faculty, students and industry partners at the University of Oklahoma. Raleigh received a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University.
Paul Johnson
Vice President, Risk Management
Paul serves as Vice President of Risk Management for MNH. Prior to joining MNHin 2017, Paul was SVP of Risk Services for Equify/Wilks Bros for 4 years and spent 13 years with AON/Allied North America as Senior VP Construction Claims for the Southwest Region. With more than 3 decades of claims experience, Paul brings his deep expertise to each engagement by providing review of claims regulations, coverage interpretation, and exposure analysis. He champions client advocacy and claims management. Paul holds designations as a Claims Law Specialist (SCLA), Associate In Claims (AIC) and has been Licensed as a Claims Adjuster for over 30 years.
Marsha Grant
Vice President, Insurance
Marsha Grant serves as Vice President of Insurance. Marsha joined MNH in 2003 and has over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry. She worked previously as an Account Executive with Summit Global Partners and Noel/Greaves, Inc. and was also an Account Manager/Office Manager at Transportation Insurance Managers. Marsha holds designations as an Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) and a Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS).
